About The Position

This is a seasonal position at Paradise Inn, operating primarily during the summer months (April to October). The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, assisting culinary staff, and performing various utility tasks. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful mountain environment and gain valuable experience.

Requirements

• Partial High School; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• Strong sanitation habits and attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and report it to management.
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
• Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
• Lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Able to stand for extended periods and climb steps regularly carrying heavy loads.
• Frequent immersion of hands in water.
• Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English.
• Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast paced kitchen.
• Withstand temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.
• Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
• Use of commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Use of general custodial equipment including mop, broom, variety of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as goggles and gloves.

Responsibilities

• Wash all dishes, utensils, trays, and cooking supplies using proper sanitation procedures.
• Maintain the kitchen, serving, and dining areas in clean and orderly condition.
• Clean floor area of any spillage of water, detergent and/or food stuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Fill condiments, utensils, and other supplies with stock as needed.
• Pull trash from trash receptacles and replace trash bags as needed.
• Keep all trash cans double-lined and in sanitary condition.
• Loading and unloading of inventory from trucks.
• Stocking storeroom.
• Assist chefs, line cooks, and dining room staff as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as directed or required.
