About The Position

Under the direction of Dining Services management, the position of Food Service Staff is to support back of house functions, front of house operations and catering functions. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of dining services, including dishwashing, dining room assistance, food preparation, catering support, and retail food service. As part of a 24-hour operation, flexibility in working hours, including weekends, evenings, night shifts, and holidays, is expected.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow instructions, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Experience preferred but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

Support Dining Services operations including dish room, dining room, food preparation, catering, line serving, and retail food service.
Clean dishes and kitchen area.
Greet and assist guests, clear tables, maintain table set-ups and bus stations, and clean dining room and outdoor food service areas.
Prepare salad and fruit bars, and other prep needs as assigned.
Prepare, deliver, and serve food in venues across campus.
Supply and maintain dining room buffet lines and beverage set-ups.
Support retail operations by scooping ice cream, completing short-order cooking orders, and preparing other menu items.
Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Serve as a customer service agent through positive and friendly guest interactions.
Perform other duties as requested.
Work weekends, evenings, night shifts, and/or holidays as needed for a 24-hour operation.
