About The Position

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a Kitchen Technician to perform maintenance and repair of a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, electrical and gas appliances, tools, and other equipment as assigned. This role involves disassembling damaged or worn kitchen equipment, performing repairs such as rewiring and replacing components, and implementing services and inspections according to manufacturer’s specifications. The technician will also respond to emergency calls, carry a two-way radio, adhere to safety procedures, and communicate operating procedures and failures to upper management. Responsibilities include analyzing operating procedures, keeping records of equipment activity, estimating material and time needs, submitting ordering requisitions, and coordinating with other departments to ensure work orders and projects are addressed. Providing incredible customer service is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Familiar with tool, equipment and techniques associated with kitchen & related equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in repair & maintenance of said equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to five years of related experience in the casino industry as a Kitchen Technician preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and think and re-act quickly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot with a multi meter preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles damaged or worn kitchen equipment in shop; performs repairs and rebuilds operations such as rewiring and replacing bearings, bushings, brushes, and centrifugal or on-off switches.
  • Performs the maintenance and repair of a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, electrical and gas appliances, tools, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Implements services and inspections to all kitchen & related equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Responds to all emergency calls, power failure, fuel service failure, etc.
  • Carries a two-way radio at all times on their shift.
  • Adheres to and remains aware of all property and departmental safety procedures.
  • Interprets and communicates operating procedures and failures to upper management.
  • Analyzes operating procedures and keeps records of any activity or discrepancies to equipment.
  • Ability to estimate material, time, and submit ordering requisitions for various task.
  • Coordinate and schedule with other departments to ensure proper work orders or major projects are addressed and ensure proper manpower coverage is available.
