About The Position

Under the direction of the Casino Housekeeping Manager, Kitchen Steward’s main responsibility is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area.

Requirements

• Knowledge of different kinds of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
• Commitment to proper sanitation procedures.
• Professional communication skills to include optimal verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Organized, attentive to details, and ability to be a team player.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to complete the 90-day Introductory Period in consecutive days as scheduled.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Graduate or GED (required)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Cahuilla Gaming License and submit to random drug/and or alcohol testing.
• Ability to obtain a California State Driver’s License.
• Ability to complete necessary Casino Essentials courses to carry out the job responsibilities.
• Food Handler Certified (required).

Nice To Haves

• If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a “reasonable time” agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, drains, work surfaces, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards.
• Break down, clean grease traps, and other kitchen appliances; assist with moving heavy equipment when necessary.
• Ensure that kitchen areas and equipment (vent hood including filters) are cleaned.
• Maintain cleanliness of trash areas.
• Adhere to all food, health, and safety regulations.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Casino Housekeeping Manager.
