About The Position

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for the overall cleanliness of kitchen areas and dishware, tableware, and service ware under the guidance of the Kitchen Supervisors. This role is crucial for maintaining the health and safety standards within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

Must have the ability to multi-task.
Must have communication skills for safety.

Nice To Haves

Familiar with operation of hood and auto cleaning system.
Understand shelving systems and connections- able to take apart and clean thoroughly.
Familiar with equipment operation, how to clean safely, understanding of hot surfaces, oil safe handling of equipment in both prep and kitchen production areas.

Responsibilities

Cleans broilers, deep fryers, grills, ovens, range hoods, ware washing machines, and floors and walk-ins according to standards.
Rinses all dishware, tableware, and service ware for restaurants before sending them through the dish machine.
Washes hands at each possible point of contamination.
Cleans, deck brushes, and mops all kitchen floors.
Follows 3-compartment sink procedures.
Performs weekly de-liming of each dish machine.
Uses all chemicals according to use and knows where sheets are located.
Reports any malfunctions of the dishwashing machine or any other type of equipment used.
Sets up, breaks down, and maintains all dishwashers.
Empties all trashes and cardboard boxes to the dumpsters.
Gives good internal customer service to team members.
Cleans and maintains all cooks’ lines.
Cleans the ice machines, hand sinks, and refills paper towel and soap dispensers.
Uses and cleans floor signs.
Cleans and changes hood screen filters.
Checks and refills the auto clean system as necessary.
Cleans all shelving in coolers and storage areas.
Pulls out all equipment and cleans underneath and behind it.
Removes drawers from reach-in cooler units and cleans inside.
Power washes and scrubs floors nightly.
