About The Position

National Star Services, a 27-year-old facility management company, is seeking Kitchen Helpers for its location in Des Plaines, IL. This role involves being part of a team that creates high-end products for international airline guests. Responsibilities include assisting chefs with food preparation, cutting fruits and vegetables, assembling dishes, plating meals, and preparing airline catering trays. The position also requires adherence to menu specifications and maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen spaces, along with upholding hygiene, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
• Must be authorized to lawfully work in the US.
• Must have two updated valid forms of IDs.
• Slip Resistant shoes at work.
• Own transportation to get to and from work.
• A Background check and Drug test will be conducted.
• Must be able to start working as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation, fruit and vegetable cutting, assembling small dishes, plating meals, and preparing airline catering trays.
• Read, understand and follow menu specifications.
• Ensure kitchen spaces are kept clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Maintain hygiene, quality, and safety standards at all times.
