Kitchen Sales Associate
About The Position
The Kitchen Sales Associate sells Harmons’ fresh kitchen items and provides remarkable customer service. The role packages products, fills shelves, stocks the kitchen department, maintains cleanliness and sanitation, and assists throughout the kitchen as needed. The associate helps ensure product quality and freshness, appropriate assortment and inventory, accurate pricing and signage, and department appearance. Work involves regular interaction with store associates and customers in a store environment that may include frequent exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions.
Requirements
- Current Food Handler’s Permit.
- Enjoy working with and handling food products.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Solid verbal and listening skills to communicate effectively and efficiently with customers and fellow associates.
- Ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for personal and team success.
- Integrity, a positive attitude, a mission-driven and self-directed approach, and a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and collaborative work.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform repetitive-motion tasks requiring eye, hand, and foot coordination; and hear and respond to customer inquiries.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of products and services provided by the kitchen.
- Maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen.
- Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, with particular attention to advertised items.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen daily and maintain company appearance standards.
- Serve chef-prepared salads and entrees from the chef case.
- Slice meats and cheeses to order.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Package kitchen products and place them on the sales floor.
- Restock the kitchen department and help sort and put away incoming kitchen deliveries.
- Assist as needed throughout the kitchen department.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
