About The Position

Oversee dish room and pot sink operations during assigned shifts to ensure clean, sanitary, and adequately stocked dishware, utensils, cookware, and service equipment while maintaining compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Primarily assigned to the dish room, this position provides supervision and operational support throughout Dining Services as needed to meet staffing, safety, customer service, and departmental priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation requirements and dish room safety procedures.
  • 1-2 years of dish room and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise dish room and pot sink staff during assigned shifts, assigning and adjusting responsibilities to maintain efficient operations and adequate staffing.
  • Perform and oversee dishwashing and pot sink functions, ensuring dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, properly stored, and distributed.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of the dish room, pot sink, mop room, and related work areas, ensuring all sanitation and end-of-shift cleaning requirements are met.
  • Train, coach, and support staff in equipment operation, safety procedures, sanitation standards, and departmental expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards; address concerns and take corrective action as needed.
  • Operate and monitor dishwashing equipment, maintain appropriate chemical levels, and report maintenance or repair needs to management.
  • Conduct regular inventories of dishware, utensils, and related supplies, communicating shortages and operational needs as appropriate.
  • Provide supervision and operational support throughout Dining Services as needed to support staffing, workflow, customer service, and departmental priorities.
