About The Position

Daily Gather is a chef-driven, full-service restaurant from Five12 Restaurant Concepts, the team behind Dish Society. Located in Houston’s CityCentre, Daily Gather blends elevated American cuisine, scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and genuine hospitality into a polished but approachable dining experience. Our menu is built around nostalgic classics with refined culinary influence, supported by strong relationships with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. We are looking for a Kitchen Manager who is passionate about food, leadership, and building high-performing kitchen teams. This is a hands-on culinary leadership role designed for someone who thrives in a true scratch kitchen environment and wants to help drive standards, culture, and execution at a high level. Unlike a traditional “manager-only” position, this role is deeply operational and chef-focused. The ideal candidate can lead from the line, coach in real time, maintain urgency under pressure, and still obsess over details like plating, seasoning, execution, and guest experience.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen leadership experience in a scratch kitchen or chef-driven restaurant environment
  • Strong culinary standards and passion for food quality and execution
  • Experience leading high-volume services while maintaining organization and composure
  • Ability to develop and coach others while maintaining accountability
  • Strong communication and leadership presence in fast-paced environments
  • Understanding of inventory, ordering, prep systems, and labor management
  • Someone who leads with both intensity and professionalism
  • English & Spanish required

Nice To Haves

  • Food Manager Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily BOH operations in a high-volume, chef-driven scratch kitchen
  • Drive food quality, consistency, plating standards, and execution during every service
  • Coach, develop, and hold kitchen team members accountable to Daily Gather standards
  • Support prep systems, pars, ordering, inventory, scheduling, and food cost management
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the team during peak volume and service
  • Maintain strong ticket times without sacrificing quality or hospitality
  • Help execute seasonal menu changes, features, and recipe rollouts
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and food safety standards remain exceptional
  • Partner with FOH leadership to create a seamless guest experience from kitchen to table
  • Build a positive kitchen culture centered around urgency, professionalism, teamwork, and pride
