About The Position

The Kitchen Manager contributes to the success of the company by participating in the management of the daily operations of the venue, including the management of team members in conjunction with the General Manager. They oversee and manage all areas of the kitchen operations and use their discretion to make decisions quickly. In addition, they manage inventory and supplies, optimize profits, and ensure that guests have an experience that lives up to the company values. Three Bears Brewery & Restaurant is a craft brewery located in a National Park, within a restaurant in a forest. It features a stargazing retractable roof, beer garden, and a 25-foot pine tree, designed to create an outdoor dining experience year-round. The menu offers tasty chef-inspired food intended to be enjoyed with beer brewed on-site, ranging from chicken wings and kale salad to hand-stretched pizza and Alberta striploin.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory/management kitchen role, with experience in a high volume kitchen environment
  • Comfortable working with various types of technology and systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, remaining calm and collected for the team even under stress
  • An amazing team player with a knack for bringing others together to work towards a common goal
  • Ability to connect with people and build trusting relationships easily
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding the importance of effective communication and workplace culture
  • Ability to take a step back to look at things from other perspectives and be open to a different way
  • Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Flexible schedule required

Responsibilities

  • Focus on producing quality food experiences for guests and leading the kitchen team, while being versatile in kitchen and people management
  • Ensure consistent food preparation and the highest caliber of food presentation is being met, and continuously look for ways to improve and communicate with the team
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food and labour costs
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/provincial/local laws, and ordinances
  • Work closely with the Corporate Chef team, and prepare and attend weekly and monthly planning meetings
  • Lead by example and recognize the importance of employee experience and building a strong team culture
  • Act as an ambassador of the employer brand, always being on the lookout for top talent and assisting with hiring amazing people to join the kitchen team
