About The Position

Print Works Bistro is seeking a friendly and energetic Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef to join a team of restaurant professionals delivering outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced environment. The role supports the organization’s mission to serve guests, fellow staff members, owners, and the Earth and her people. The Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef is responsible for the smooth and consistent operation of kitchen shifts, food quality and execution, team leadership and development, hiring, and key restaurant financials.

Requirements

Five or more years of kitchen leadership experience in a full-service, moderate- to high-volume restaurant.
Strong leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, enthusiastic environment.

Nice To Haves

Culinary school background.

Responsibilities

Communicate clearly and perform consistently in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
Ensure each shift is set up for success, runs smoothly with good cook times and high-quality dishes, and is closed down consistently according to established systems.
Work as both a cook and chef, including working a line station during a shift and creating specials.
Coach and mentor colleagues and foster a safe and fair work environment.
Ensure orders are read and communicated efficiently, integrating needs from multiple departments and service team members.
Lead the team in preparing and executing food quickly and consistently using established systems.
Recruit and hire staff, then develop them into Lucky Star staff members.
Take ownership of restaurant financial matters, including payroll, food cost, and waste.
Create an environment that encourages leaders to develop their skills and grow.
Ensure staff members are included in staff meetings and educational opportunities.
