About The Position

This role is ideal for an experienced Chef, Sous Chef, or kitchen leader ready to take ownership of day-to-day kitchen operations in our new market restaurant, managing and supporting our line cook and prep cook team members to deliver consistently high-quality food in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. You’ll set the pace for service, uphold food safety standards, and help build a kitchen culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and pride in great seafood.

Requirements

Red Seal Chef certification is preferred.
Equivalent leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen environment may also be considered.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Deep understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and cost control
Ability to stay organized and perform under pressure in a high-volume environment
Passion for seafood, sustainability, and local ingredients
A hands-on leader who leads by example and supports their team
Valid Food Handlers certification required, or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

Leading, training, and scheduling kitchen staff, including Line Cooks and Prep Cooks
Overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient service
Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Enforcing food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times
Managing inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships
Controlling food and labour costs while maximizing quality and efficiency
Supporting menu execution and collaborating on continuous improvement
Hiring, training, and developing kitchen team members
Creating a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen culture
Working closely with the Store Manager to ensure clear communication and alignment, supporting seamless front- and back-of-house operations
