About The Position

Azure Palm Cafe and Bar Luna, located at Azure Palm Hot Springs Mineral Resort and Day Spa, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Lead to support its growing food and beverage operations. The cafe is known for healthy, delicious food served to local customers and resort guests. Bar Luna is starting with Friday and Saturday evening service featuring Mediterranean-style small plates, beer, wine, and live music. The resort is also preparing to host weddings and corporate retreats, with plans to eventually develop Bar Luna into a fine-dining experience. The Kitchen Lead supervises and coordinates cooks and other food-preparation workers, ensuring recipes are followed and orders meet consistent quality standards. The role also involves checking supplies, equipment, and work areas; making use of excess ingredients in daily specials; instructing and demonstrating food-preparation methods to staff; and fostering a pleasant, positive, and nurturing work environment. The position offers growth potential as the resort expands.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate cooks and other workers engaged in food preparation.
Ensure recipes are followed and orders are executed consistently with quality standards.
Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for conformance with established standards.
Suggest daily specials that use excess food products before they become food waste.
Instruct cooks and other workers in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
Demonstrate new cooking techniques or equipment to staff.
Maintain a pleasant attitude and a positive, nurturing work environment.
