About The Position

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production, ordering and inventory of the kitchen. This is a full-time position with first shift availability, located at the Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center. The role involves working with chefs and food buyers on pricing, ordering, and delivery terms in a cost-effective manner, managing the procurement system, and ensuring quality of received products. The supervisor will also support inventory rotation, make menu suggestions based on stock levels, conduct monthly inventory, update pricing, organize kitchen storage, maintain food item pars, and enforce food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Two years food and beverage materials receiving, or food buying experience required.
  • Strong general food knowledge.
  • Good computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position required.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary internship, apprenticeship or degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Teams and OneNote desirable.
  • Experience working with purchasing req system desired.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Chefs and food buyers on pricing, ordering & delivery terms in a cost-effective manner.
  • Orders all items in procurement system & communicates purchases with Chefs and food buyers in a timely manner.
  • Support Chefs in operations of order control and inventory rotation.
  • Receives and stocks all products in the kitchen. Ensures quality of product.
  • Make menu suggestion to chef based on death stock and extra inventory.
  • Conduct and organize monthly inventory of all on-hand food items.
  • Update pricing on inventory spreadsheet every quarter.
  • Keep all kitchen freezers and walk-ins organized and clean.
  • Maintain pars of all food items, inputting orders as required.
  • Ensure that all food safety standards are up-to-date and enforced within the kitchen.
