About The Position

Century Fire Protection is one of the largest and most successful full-service fire protection companies based in the Southeast, specializing in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of all types of fire protection systems in commercial markets. Headquartered in Duluth, GA, the company has over 20 offices across seven states. This full-time position is for a Kitchen Hood Suppression Technician responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role involves working independently and as part of a service team to support customer safety, regulatory compliance, and company service commitments. The position is based out of Century Fire Protection Duluth - Duluth, GA 30096 and may require up to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 2-5 years’ experience servicing kitchen hood suppression systems or related fire protection systems
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to use mobile service software, smartphones, and basic computer applications and email

Nice To Haves

  • Pre-engineered Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Permit
  • Portable Fire Extinguisher Permit
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde)
  • Knowledge of NFPA 17A and applicable local codes

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, service, and maintain kitchen hood fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 17A, manufacturer requirements, and local fire codes.
  • Perform system installations, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
  • Identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
  • Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and deficiency notices accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate with customers, fire marshals, and internal scheduling teams to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours service as required.
