About The Position

The Modern Maturity Center is hiring a part-time Kitchen Helper. This role is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and storing kitchen equipment and utensils, maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment, and assisting with various kitchen tasks. The position operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 75 pounds with mechanical assistance

Responsibilities

Cleans pots, pans, and trays used in the daily operation of the nutrition program
Scrapes food from dirty pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine
Sweeps and mops the dish room floors
Washes the area worktables and walls
Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers
Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Other duties may be assigned
