About The Position
As a Temporary AM Kitchen Helper, you help create a positive dining experience for residents. You prepare, stock, and maintain an appealing salad bar; provide friendly dining-room service and keep tables clean; and wash and sanitize tableware, cookware, and equipment to support a safe community.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to work a consistent Sunday–Thursday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English.
- Able to obtain food handler permits required by local ordinances within the first two weeks of employment.
Responsibilities
- Operate the dish machine by loading, running, and unloading it; report mechanical issues and monitor and log water temperatures to ensure proper sanitization.
- Wash, store, and handle tableware and kitchenware carefully.
- Maintain a clean, organized dish room and ensure adequate supplies of clean items for the dining room and kitchen.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as needed.
- Assist in the dining room by bussing tables, filling water carafes, preparing tables before meals, and delivering room-service orders.
- Safely use ovens, steamers, grills, sharp utensils, and small appliances to support daily food preparation.
- Listen and respond politely to food comments or complaints and report concerns to leadership promptly.
- Perform support work and additional tasks, including trash removal.
- Prepare, stock, and maintain the salad bar.
