About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition Services is seeking a Kitchen Helper. Under direct supervision, this position performs routine cleaning and other duties in the General Hospital food service area. The position is located at the General Hospital and is performed fully on campus.

The position is listed as 50% time, with a salary of $17.66 per hour. The schedule alternates weekly: Week A is Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Tuesday and Saturday off. Week B is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Sunday and Thursday off.

• Ability to understand and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Clean designated kitchen areas, the dish room, and restrooms.
• Transport soiled and clean dishes.
• Empty trash and recyclable material containers.
