About The Position

This is a part-time Kitchen Helper position at the Mamie Warren Center, specifically for the Meals on Wheels Program. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. The role involves maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment, assisting kitchen staff with daily tasks, and contributing to the packaging and distribution of meals.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Contributes to building a positive team spirit
Follows policies and procedures
Is consistently at work and on time
Follows instructions, responds to management direction
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
Completes work in a timely manner
Observes safety and security procedures
Uses equipment and materials properly

ServSafe Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Assists in the packaging and distribution of meals
Prepares and cleans tea, coffee, and water urns (and condiments) for congregate clients
Maintains cleanliness of work areas, removes trash, cleans, and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils as assigned
Follow sanitation and safety regulations as noted in the Food Code
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Monitor food temperatures using thermometers
Backs up serving lines, makes sure the line has an adequate amount of food
Transfer completed food packages to appropriate areas for transport or storage
Gathers supplies and products needed for daily operation
Other duties may be assigned
