About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and skilled Kitchen Equipment Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair both hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, and food service operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and hands-on experience working with hot equipment such as ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, and dishwashers, as well as cold equipment including refrigerators, freezers, walk-ins, prep coolers, and ice machines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience repairing commercial kitchen hot-side equipment and refrigeration/cold-side equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments (heat, cold, confined spaces, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Certification for refrigeration handling.
  • Experience with gas equipment repair.
  • CFESA certification or equivalent industry certifications.
  • HVAC or appliance repair background.
  • Experience using digital work order or field service systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain both hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, grills, ranges, mixers, steamers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, prep tables, ice machines, and any other commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Perform preventative commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Install new kitchen equipment and ensure proper ongoing operation.
  • Troubleshoot building electrical, gas, plumbing, and mechanical issues; perform light repairs where possible, and schedule service calls as necessary.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory usage.
  • Maintain vendor relationships, manage warranty service, agreements, and appointments as necessary.
  • Communicate professionally with internal customers regarding repair timelines and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed, including nights/weekends/holidays.
  • Maintain and inventory company tools and equipment.
