About The Position

A-1 Restaurant is looking for an experienced Food Equipment Repair Technician. You will be responsible for diagnosis and troubleshooting of systems, operation, maintenance and repair of all makes and models of commercial food equipment. We can promise a new problem will need to be addressed in every service call. Qualified Applicants will have experience in troubleshooting and/or installing the following items but no limited to: Slicers, Ovens, Steamers, Microwaves, Warmers, Heat Elements, Mixers, Fryers, Grills, Beverage Dispensers, Crescor Toasters As part of the A-1 team and Tech24 network, our Hot Side Technicians play a critical role in servicing commercial cooking (hot side) equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen systems while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in solving problems, minimizing customer downtime, and representing the company with professionalism.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial foodservice repair experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
  • Own industry standard hand tools
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
  • Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
  • Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
  • Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
  • Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
