About The Position

Responsible for effectively maintaining all refrigeration and kitchen equipment. Completes timely repairs on all domestic, commercial and industrial kitchen equipment. Maintains working conditions of restaurant equipment, including fryers, dishwashers, stoves, food mixers and buffet line equipment. Maintains refrigeration equipment, including but not limited to compressors, evaporators and refrigerant leaks. Keeps machinery operating in a safe, efficient manner, acceptable with all health codes. Reads schematics and performs electrical troubleshooting on all mechanical equipment. Repairs all electrical motor failures. Relocates existing equipment when requested. Maintains an adequate supply of materials needed for the efficient performance of job. Maintains all logs necessary for conformance with standards set. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record. Performs any reasonable request made by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • EPA approved “Proper Refrigeration Practices” (Universal Certification Card within 90 days of employment).
  • One year maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Must be familiar with high and low voltage controls.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as technical journals, policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Regularly required to climb a twelve-foot ladder.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
