About The Position

The Kitchen Dishwasher performs duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utilities in clean and orderly condition. This role involves greeting guests, offering service improvement ideas, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas. The position requires adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Maintains all current licenses and certifications.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Maintains high standards for work area and appearance and presents self in highly professional manner to staff and guest.
  • Available days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
  • Provide documentation that they are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Greet each guest, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive experience.
  • Offer ideas on improving services and cost reductions.
  • Sweep and mop floor once every hour as needed.
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
  • Run glasses through the dish machine with clean water.
  • Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
  • Separate, recycle, and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose-out garbage cans.
  • Sort bottles and break disposable ones in a bottle-crushing machine.
  • Polish silver, using a burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, if required.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck.
  • Set up banquet tables, when required.
  • Wash and peel vegetables using a knife or peeling machine, when required.
  • Put away all clean utensils; put away & rotate stock in designated areas.
  • Ensure that the loading dock is clean and organized.
  • Check garbage for silverware, etc., before throwing it away.
  • Make floors safe by removing debris, grease, water, etc.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Fully aware of and comply with Inns policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
