Requirements

  • Previous kitchen, prep, or line cook experience preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety, health codes, and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification is a plus).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily kitchen operations, working various stations including fry, grill, and prep to ensure seamless service.
  • Act as an expediter (expo) to plate, garnish, and verify food quality and accuracy before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all local health codes, food safety standards, and proper food handling procedures at all times.
  • Perform rigorous daily cleaning duties, including deep cleaning stations, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and sweeping/mopping floors.
  • Maintain health inspection readiness and strict sanitation compliance throughout the entirety of the shift.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace, including stepping in to operate the dish pit to keep the kitchen well-stocked with clean pans, utensils, and plates.
  • Prepare ingredients, complete daily prep lists, and ensure stations are fully stocked for peak service hours.
  • Ensure strict recipe adherence and portion accuracy to maintain our high culinary standards.
  • Support food cost control and waste reduction initiatives through mindful prep and cooking practices.
  • Assist with receiving and putting away vendor deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of ingredients.
  • Help clean and maintain kitchen equipment, communicating any maintenance or malfunction issues to management.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff, fellow kitchen crew, and management to foster a positive and efficient environment.
