About The Position

Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack is seeking a Kitchen Cook I to join their team. This full-time position involves preparing food according to menu specifications, managing inventory, and ensuring station readiness. The role requires a strong understanding of the menu, creativity with specials, and knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety regulations. The cook will work under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Requirements

• Must have excellent communication and organizational, time management, and leadership skills
• Extensive familiarity with the following equipment (training provided): Fryer, char broiler, flat-top, hot-well, wok station, steamers, convection oven, walk in cooler and freezer, assortment of knives, mandolin, etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Working in a high volume kitchen for at least 2 years
• This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of company policy and procedures, state regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities
• Must possess the ability to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license

Responsibilities

• Following instructions of the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs
• Preparing orders quickly and efficiently to menu spec
• Rotates inventory and ensures freshness of product at all times
• Refill items that require prepping and make sure stations are stocked
• Ability to prepare all recipes pertaining to current food menu.
• Possess thorough knowledge of the current menu items for all stations
• Use creativity with specials.
• Knowledgeable on all equipment and how to clean them
• RTI filtering fryers on a consistent basis
• Ensure setup for the following shift is complete
