About The Position

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Kitchen Cleaner to join their team. This role is responsible for the heavy-duty cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring proper sanitation and infection control procedures are followed. Requirements

High School or GED
Strong communication (both oral and written), and customer service skills
Ability to read well and write legibly
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
Basic computer skills
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned
Cleans heavy duty kitchen equipment and facilities (i.e. broilers, ovens, fryers, floors, ice machine, etc.)
Practices safe handling of cleaning chemicals
Follows and completes cleaning assignments in accordance with monthly cleaning list and daily assignment sheets
Transports garbage from kitchen/cafeteria to outside dumpsters
Complies with departmental and hospital wide policies pertaining to proper sanitation and infection control procedures
Uses correct cleaning chemicals for designated cleaning tasks
Ensures all chemicals are stored in the chemical closet at end of shift
Delivers food and beverages for catering functions as assigned
