About The Position
Kitchen Tune-Up of Grand Rapids is seeking independent contractors for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects across West Michigan. The work takes place indoors in customers’ homes and includes installing new kitchens and full bathrooms from start to finish. New cabinet installation is central to most projects and is required. Projects may also include cabinet refacing and, for contractors with the relevant skills, tile, flooring, drywall, and light electrical work. Most work is paid by the job, with some tasks paid hourly when that better suits the job. The company says its contract partners typically earn the equivalent of $35–$50 per hour for their time. Contractors receive scheduled sold jobs without needing to bid or find leads; the company handles design and product supply and provides scheduling and materials coordination, along with support from a field supervisor and office team.
Requirements
- Remodeling experience in kitchens, bathrooms, or both, demonstrated through proven ability and drive.
- Ability to install new cabinets well; this is required.
- Licensed and insured, including general liability insurance.
- Own tools and vehicle.
- Submit a W-9; work is paid on a 1099 basis.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Finish quality that meets the company’s standards.

- Broader remodeling skills beyond cabinet installation, such as tile, flooring, drywall, or light electrical work.
- Experience or preference focused on either kitchens or bathrooms.
Responsibilities
- Install new kitchens and full bathrooms from start to finish.
- Install new cabinets.
- Install crown molding, hardware, roll-out trays, and other accessories.
- Perform cabinet refacing when assigned.
- Perform tile, flooring, drywall, or light electrical work when qualified and assigned.
- Deliver finish quality consistent with the contractor’s professional reputation.
- Coordinate with the company’s scheduling and materials contact and work with its field and office team to resolve job issues.
