Kitchen & Bath Remodeling Contractor - Independent Contractor

Kitchen Tune-Up Grand Rapids Forest Hills•Grand Rapids, MI
•Onsite

About The Position

Kitchen Tune-Up of Grand Rapids is seeking independent contractors to perform kitchen and bathroom remodeling work in customers’ homes across West Michigan. Work includes new kitchens and full bathrooms installed from start to finish, with new cabinet installation as a core requirement. Additional work may include crown molding, hardware, roll-out trays, accessories, cabinet refacing, and—where the contractor has the skills—tile, flooring, drywall, and light electrical work. Contractors may focus on kitchens, bathrooms, or both. Most work is paid by the job, though some work is paid hourly when appropriate. The company reports that contract partners typically earn the equivalent of $35–$50 per hour for their time. Sold jobs are ready to schedule, and the company supplies the products and provides design, scheduling, materials coordination, and field and office support. This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity.

Requirements

  • Remodeling experience in kitchens, bathrooms, or both; proven ability and drive are emphasized rather than a specific number of years.
  • Ability to install new cabinets well.
  • Licensed and insured, including general liability insurance.
  • Own tools and a vehicle.
  • W-9 on file and willingness to be paid on a 1099 basis.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality finished work.

Nice To Haves

  • Broader remodeling skills beyond cabinet installation, such as tile, flooring, drywall, or light electrical work.
  • Ability and preference to work on both kitchens and bathrooms; contractors may also focus on one area.

Responsibilities

  • Install new kitchens and full bathrooms from start to finish.
  • Install new cabinets, a required core skill for the work.
  • Install crown molding, hardware, roll-out trays, and other accessories.
  • Perform cabinet refacing and, when qualified, broader work such as tile, flooring, drywall, and light electrical work.
  • Deliver finish quality that reflects well on the contractor and the company.
  • Coordinate work with the company’s field supervisor and office team when issues arise with materials or jobs.
