About The Position

A Kitchen Assistant must be a born-again Christian, committed to living a biblical lifestyle and called by God to work at Harvest Christian School. A Kitchen Assistant must be dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, creative and organized, with the ability to relate well with children, parents, school staff and volunteers. They work with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values and mission.

Requirements

  • Must be a born-again Christian, committed to living a biblical lifestyle and called by God to work at Harvest Christian School.
  • Must be dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, creative and organized.
  • Ability to relate well with children, parents, school staff and volunteers.
  • Work with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values and mission.
  • Active movement such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Conduct consistently repetitive hand and arm motions used in food preparations.
  • Must have a current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card and renew it every year.
  • Must be reliable and dependable, ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task, take and implement directions, and collaborate with other teammates.
  • Must be 18 years old or older to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive Christian atmosphere in the kitchen.
  • Demonstrate a Christ-like and positive professional attitude toward students; treat students with respect, remain objective when dealing with student problems.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among students, faculty and parents.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff and maintain them over time.
  • Maintain a professional behavior in accordance with the Teacher Manual and Harvest Christian Fellowship Employee Manual, and a wiliness to follow school’s policies and procedures.
  • Accept change in a positive Christ-like and professional manner, such as implementing new programs and policies, a willingness to accept decisions made by others, etc.
  • Accepts evaluation and redirection and makes necessary changes or adjustments.
  • Must have a current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card and renew it every year.
  • Must be reliable and dependable, ready to work in a fast-paced environment, possess the ability to multi-task, take and implement directions, and collaborate with other teammates.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, prepping, cooking and serving food.
  • This position involves routine exposure to various kitchen chemicals and cleaning agents in accordance with safety guidelines.
