About The Position

Senior LIFE is an innovative home and community based Medicare and Medicaid funded program which provides all-inclusive healthcare services and support to seniors living in the community. Senior LIFE makes it possible for seniors to remain at home, enjoying the comfort and reassurance of familiar surroundings while receiving the care they need. Senior LIFE staff live the mission of the program. Our team is committed to partnering with our seniors to remain at home through promoting open communication and shared decision making while providing excellent care and services. As part of this exciting expansion, Senior LIFE seeks a hardworking, dedicated and compassionate Kitchen Assistant who, in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager, will prepare meals and assist members with eating and cleanup.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year’s experience working with geriatric patients
  • Work in a food service and/or preparation role
  • Pass an adult CPR course, if he/she is not already certified

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in meal preparation and service
  • Setting tables, setting up and serving trays, and pouring beverages
  • Assisting during meal times, as needed, and visiting members in dining areas
  • Cleaning up dining, dietary and day rooms before and after meal services
  • Ensuring safe, responsible use of food preparation and service equipment, plus storage after use
  • Sanitizing work spaces following meal preparation
