The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for adhering to all provisions of the current Rhode Island Department of Health Food Code, monitoring and enforcing rules of safety and sanitation in the kitchen, and ensuring adequate and prompt preparation, service, and clean-up of meals for children, staff, and volunteers. This role involves preparing nutritious meals and snacks in compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with inventory stocking and rotation, and participating in required training.
