About The Position

Aspira Bartlett 55+ Lifestyle Apartments is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join their team. This role is part-time, with a shift from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The schedule involves working specific days in week one (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday) and week two (Sunday, Monday). Requirements

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation.
• One year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Excellent command of verbal and written English language.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Nice To Haves

• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support with meal service, table set-up, and clean-up.
• Contribute to creating enjoyable dining experiences that support residents’ health and well-being.
• Be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serveries area, setting, serving and cleaning tables.
• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
• Carrying out general cleaning duties and routines, including scraping, washing, stacking and storage of dishes.
• Practicing and maintaining established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
• Promoting and tracking a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
