About The Position

The Child Development Center Cook supports the preparation and service of nutritious meals and snacks for young children in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, following menu and food-safety guidelines, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, washing dishes, organizing supplies, and supporting meal service and cleanup. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, works well with others, and enjoys working in an early childhood setting. What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For Position Summary: The Cook assists with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. Requirements

  • Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working around young children.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and meal service.
  • Follow established menus, recipes, and food safety guidelines.
  • Wash dishes, clean kitchen surfaces, and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Store and organize food and kitchen supplies appropriately.
  • Help maintain accurate food and sanitation records as required.
  • Support classroom meal and snack routines as needed.
  • Follow all childcare center health, safety, and sanitation policies.
  • Work cooperatively with teachers, kitchen staff, and center leadership.
