About The Position

The FT Kitchen Aide position is responsible for assisting the Cook and other Kitchen Aides in the preparation of specified menu items; assists with general cleaning and utility tasks in the kitchen and utility areas; assists with setting up, breaking down, and service in the AL/LV and IL Dining Room; assists with the receiving and checking in of stock deliveries; and other general duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hospitality focused and strive to create quality experiences for those you serve.
  • Exhibits food prep production standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with ability to balance meal service and preparations for next day.
  • Ability to navigate commercial kitchen and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Safety focus to ensure safe environment for residents and guests.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 100% of the work day (4-8-hour shift).
  • Ability to independently life, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate full campus .
  • Ability to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior Living community experience is preferred.
  • Fine dining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the plating of Lakeview/Assisted Living meals and use of a heated transport unit.
  • Transport hot and cold foods to and from a central kitchen to/from all dining/kitchen areas.
  • Transport all required non-food items to and from a central kitchen to all dining/kitchen areas.
  • Prepare food items to be used by AL/LV which include salads, fruit bowls and desserts as needed.
  • Maintains safe, sanitary, and orderly conditions in all work areas; promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for residents and staff at all times.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, floors, work surfaces, and other work areas according to specified cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Will perform all expeditor responsibilities for lunch and dinner shifts when needed.
  • Set up and break down expo station as well as prepare garnishes and gather condiments needed for service and will maintain the work station.
  • Other duties as assigned.
