Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field of study
  • 1+ years of experience in social services, education, or a related field required
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to pass background check, pre-employment drug screening, and physical
  • Minimum age 21 years old

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience as a kinship caregiver who has raised children in kinship care and navigated the child welfare, legal, educational, and health systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with kinship caregivers, groups, organizations, and institutions to identify, connect to, and effectively utilize community resources, while increasing awareness of kinship needs among community providers, court and child welfare staff, and other key stakeholders to develop resources for the betterment of kinship care
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of local, regional, county, and/or statewide issues affecting kinship families and the resources available to help them.
  • Support kinship caregivers, groups, organizations, and institutions with identifying assets and needs.
  • Act as a liaison between community building initiatives, bringing together people and programs to work alongside kinship caregivers.
  • Develop programs and educational materials for kinship care and deliver trainings on kinship issues to a variety of audiences
  • Find all applicable resources to meet kinship needs
