About The Position

The Kinship Care Coordinator is responsible for completing home studies on relatives that have been identified as a placement option for youth in foster care. They assess the caregiver’s ability to provide for the youth’s physical, mental, educational and social needs as well as visit the relative placement monthly to provide ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services-related field
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Providing staff training on kinship care
  • Educating the community
  • Assisting with difficult cases
  • Attending court hearings and case plans
  • Conducting home studies
  • Facilitating kinship placements
  • Offering ongoing support
  • Maintain relationships with DCF, courts, and community partners
  • Document all client interactions
  • Attend required training sessions
