Position Summary: The Texas Screwworm Eradication (TSE) First Officer reports to the Base Manager and is responsible to provide safe and professional operation in Beechcraft King Air 90 aircraft.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • FAA Commercial multi-engine pilot certificate with instrument rating
  • FAA First or Second Class Medical
  • Minimum of 250 hours total time
  • Ability to work as an effective team member through all facets of ground and flight operations
  • Teachable, self-motivated, and hard-working
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to learn and effectively use various computer programs for time/record keeping and travel/expense reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 500 hours total time
  • Relevant college degree preferred
  • Be fluent in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of the second in command (SIC)
  • Be familiar with destination, alternate airports, actual and forecasted meteorological conditions, fuel and oil requirements, navigation and radio aids, and applicable NOTAMs
  • Encourage a strong aviation safety culture and comply with the company’s safety management system
  • Ensure Base Manager is informed of the customer, aircraft, weather, or other potential issues that may compromise mission accomplishment
  • Proactively perform all assigned preflight, postflight, and reporting responsibilities
  • Operate fly dispersal equipment during flights and clean fly dispersal equipment following flights
  • Other duties as assigned
