Job SummaryThe Kindergarten Teacher nurtures the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of young children in a faith-filled environment. This role introduces foundational academic skills while fostering a love of learning and an understanding of Catholic values and traditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required)
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting
  • Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
  • Completion of diocesan background check and safe environment training

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in early literacy, math, science, and social skills
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily classroom activities
  • Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christian love and respect
  • Lead students in daily prayer and participate in liturgies and religious celebrations
  • Support the development of social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and empathy
  • Use hands-on, play-based, and interactive learning strategies
  • Assess student progress through observation, portfolios, and age-appropriate evaluations
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents/guardians
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques aligned with school policies
  • Collaborate with faculty and participate in staff meetings and professional development
