About The Position

École Agnes Davidson Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic French Immersion Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will support student learning with passion, demonstrating enthusiasm, flexibility, and a strong team-player attitude. This role involves fostering a positive and creative environment, promoting diversity and inclusion, and contributing to strong academic programs within a French Immersion setting for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. The Division is committed to providing culturally authentic learning opportunities and fostering well-being for all students and staff.

Requirements

  • Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Demonstrated understanding of early literacy and numeracy.
  • Belief in play-based learning.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Sound understanding of teaching context and contributing variables.
  • Deep understanding of subject disciplines taught and pedagogical approaches based on best practice.
  • Understanding of planning, assessment and instructional practices.
  • Understanding of classroom management strategies that contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to use technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning.
  • Qualities of a reflective practitioner who engages in professional learning aligned with the TQS.
  • Commitment to the school community with respect to professional relationships.
  • Belief in collaborative practice and teamwork.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and professionalism.
  • Active contribution to school and student activity.
  • Overall ability to develop effective relationships within the school and community.
  • Provide a police information check, including Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Provide a satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Provide proof of photo identification.
  • Provide documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name.
