About The Position

Instruct Kindergarten students and implement all required district and state assessments. Use data to plan, implement and assess classroom instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Work in collaboration to help each Kindergarten student learn at high levels in all subjects including English language arts, mathematics, science, social skills and other common core state standards. Report pupil progress to parents, support programs and building/district professional development programs; attend meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties.

Requirements

  • Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsement(s)
  • Knowledge of early childhood and developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices
  • Knowledge in dual language strategies
  • Knowledge and use of technology in the classroom
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a team player, including collaboration around the use of student growth data
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS) or willingness to learn
  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing
  • Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this job

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in elementary age core content areas
  • Experience working with kindergarten students
  • Experience with elementary ELA and Kindergarten State Standards
  • Experience with iReady Reading & iReady Math
