About The Position

Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Teach all core 2nd grade-level curriculum. Report pupil progress to parents; support programs and building/district in-service education programs; attend meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties.

Requirements

  • Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsement.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices are a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills is a must.
  • Ability to work as a team player, including collaboration around the use of student growth data is a must.
  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this job.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual/biliterate (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experience in elementary age core content areas is highly preferred.
  • Experience with elementary level English Language Arts and Math curriculum.
  • Experience implementing Reading Science, using the wonders curriculum, i-ready reading and math online.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS) preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience in implementing the strategies for creating a trauma-sensitive classroom preferred.
