About The Position

The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School community is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and innovative Kindergarten teacher to join our award-winning school. Our Kindergarten teachers play a critical role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning. We are seeking an educator who understands the developmental needs of young learners and creates a classroom environment where children feel valued, supported, and inspired to explore, create, and grow. Grade-level teams collaborate closely to design engaging learning experiences that integrate literacy, mathematics, science, social-emotional learning, and the arts. Candidates with experience or interest in arts integration, play-based and project-based learning, social-emotional learning, early childhood education, and STEAM instruction are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate: Creates a joyful, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Understands and implements restorative practices to build positive relationships and a strong classroom community. Uses engaging instructional strategies that foster curiosity, creativity, and academic growth. Collaborates effectively with colleagues and families to support student success. Requirements

  • Strong instructional practices.
  • Deep commitment to young children.
  • Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
  • Connecticut State Certification 013 (Integrated Early Childhood/Special Education), 305 (Elementary Education), or other appropriate Connecticut certification required.
