About The Position

The Kiln Operator loads and unloads material into the kiln, maintains the required paperwork, and ensures products have the proper tags. The role works under immediate supervision and relies on specific directions and instructions. The operator also moves material between storage and work areas, operates the kiln and kiln computer, performs general preventive maintenance, and helps keep the yard organized and clean.

Requirements

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete the Forklift Driver licensing process.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Six months to one year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers and software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload kiln material.
• Tag and retag products as required.
• Move material and other products between storage and work areas as needed.
• Operate the kiln and kiln computer.
• Perform general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete the preshift startup equipment checklist and report problems or concerns.
• Maintain an organized and clean yard.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follow company forklift rules and policies.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
