About The Position

Under the direction of the Membership Director and in accordance with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, a Y Kids Zone Rep is responsible for supervising and leading activities that engage children in play and learning, while ensuring that health and safety standards are met.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
• Capable of working as a team player
• Ability to maintain safe environment
• Obtain ASHI (CPR) certification within 30 days of employment (training is provided)

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience working with children or in a related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead educational, age-appropriate and Christian-valued activities for children ages 6 weeks-11 years
• Maintain the health, safety and cleanliness standards of Kids Zone
• Provide superior customer service to members and their children
• Implement assigned programming
• Maintain accurate records relating to attendance
• Provide care and supervision of children in Kids Zone with emphasis on overall safety and wellness
• Communicate appropriately with other staff members in a positive manner
• Attend staff meetings and complete all required trainings
• Assist with other duties as assigned
