About The Position

As a Kids Zone Team Member, this position plays an important role in providing a fun, entertaining, engaging, educational, and safe environment for Kids Zone child members. The assistant will help organize kids programming, activities, and games for children between the ages of three months and 11 years. This role is classified as ECB status, meaning it requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department and offers limited benefit offerings. The position is identified as safety-sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • First Aid certification required within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire.
  • 6 months - 1 year related experience.
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills and customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide customer service reflective of Saint Francis Health System values.
  • Ability to work effectively with children and have an understanding of developmental and age appropriate activities.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage conflicts.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, acknowledge, and interact with parents and children in a friendly manner.
  • Engage children in interactive activities that include storytelling, organized arts and crafts, singing and games.
  • Provide continuous supervision of children in the play areas, common areas, and in the outdoor play area to ensure their health and safety.
  • Monitor and interact with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to other children, equipment, and surroundings.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures related to child safety.
  • Follow Health Zone procedure for receiving and releasing children to parent or guardian.
  • Change diapers and assist with potty training.
  • Assist children with snacks and bottle feedings.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment for children.
