About The Position

The Kids Pastor at Trinity Church will lead a thriving children’s ministry that teaches the Bible with depth, makes Jesus fun, and partners with parents to disciple the next generation. This leader will oversee a ministry that serves kids at every weekend service and midweek, and will build the volunteers, staff, and systems that make it work. As Trinity prepares to move into a facility four times its current size, the Kids Pastor will shape the spaces, teams, and culture that let the ministry serve far more families. Founded ten years ago by Pastor Mark Driscoll and family, Trinity has become a home for thousands of young families, new believers, and people seeking a healthy, joyful, deeply biblical church community. With a mission to “open our Bibles to learn, open our lives to love, so that lives and legacies are transformed,” Trinity blends robust Bible preaching with vibrant worship, strong discipleship pathways, and a deeply relational, family-first culture. The church is entering its biggest season yet, acquiring a facility four times its current size, expanding parking dramatically, preparing for midweek programming, and anticipating explosive growth. Requirements

A clear calling to kids ministry and pastoral shepherding.
3 to 5+ years of vocational kids ministry experience, preferably in a church of 1,000 or more.
Proven leadership of adults and volunteers, not just kids.
Experience building volunteer pipelines, small-group systems, and multi-layered leadership structures.
Proven ability to teach kids the Bible in an engaging, practical way.
Strong theological grounding: Reformed-leaning soteriology, openness to the gifts and work of the Holy Spirit, and alignment with Trinity’s complementarian convictions on pastoral leadership.
A strong theology of family and discipleship that values the home as primary.
Emotional intelligence, humility, teachability, and unity-oriented leadership, including a willingness to submit to spiritual authority.
A healthy marriage (or a clear pursuit of marriage and family in the future).
Character and biblical competency matter most.
Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-autonomy, high-accountability, growth-heavy environment.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree is preferred; a master’s is a bonus.
Seminary is not required.
A true pastor with a shepherd’s heart for kids and parents, not a kids speaker or a platform builder.
A gifted Bible teacher who brings Scripture to kids in a way that is biblical, Spirit-aware, and practical.
A developer of leaders who recruits, trains, and multiplies volunteers and moves from doing the ministry to developing ministers.
Someone who thrives in a Word and Spirit theological family: anchored in Scripture and open to the gifts and work of the Holy Spirit.
A leader who thinks in systems, not just events, and who wants to build structure, clarity, and follow-through for a ministry that will scale.
A spiritually and emotionally healthy pastor with a strong marriage and family life, ideally a parent who understands family life firsthand.

Responsibilities

Shepherd and lead Trinity’s kids ministry from nursery through elementary, with a pastor’s heart for every child and family.
Recruit, train, and care for a growing volunteer team that serves across every weekend service and midweek, and build layers of leaders beneath you.
Lead and develop kids ministry staff, coordinators, interns, and part-time team members.
Oversee Bible teaching and curriculum so kids learn Scripture, know Jesus, and understand the gospel at their level.
Partner with parents and equip them as the primary disciplers of their kids, in step with Trinity’s marriage and parenting content.
Create safe, secure, joyful environments, including check-in, safety systems, and the backyard worship and play experience.
Lead kids ministry for major Trinity events such as Spring Training, Easter, Christmas in July, Trinity’s Birthday, and Fall Fest.
Design kids spaces and midweek kids programming for the new facility.
Collaborate with Student Ministry and Young Adults to strengthen transitions and move toward a unified family ministry.
Manage the ministry budget, schedules, and systems, and run the ministry on EOS rhythms.
Model a healthy marriage, family life, and walk with Jesus.
