About The Position

The Kids Director is responsible for crafting a safe and inviting environment where children are introduced and taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ, fostering growth in Christ for both kids and volunteers. This role involves overseeing all programming for children from infancy through fifth grade, establishing secure systems for child protection, planning special events, and defining a vision for the Kids ministry in alignment with the church's overall mission. The director will recruit, develop, and manage volunteers, ensuring curriculum consistency with doctrinal commitments and identifying ministry and missions opportunities for children.

Responsibilities

Oversee all programming for Kids throughout the church.
Establish and maintain a secure system that protects children in our church’s care.
Plan and oversee special events related to children and families.
Define a vision for the Kids ministry that contributes to the church’s overall vision.
Develop a ministry plan to achieve that vision.
Recruit, develop, and deploy Kids ministry volunteers.
Maintain the integrity of the children’s Bible teaching time by ensuring the instruction is consistent with the doctrinal convictions of the church.
Manage all children’s ministry volunteers that work with children from infancy through fifth grade.
Identify and execute ministry and missions opportunities for children to participate in.
Review all curriculum used by the Kids ministry and ensure they are consistent with the church’s doctrinal commitments.
Develop an annual budget for the Kids ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
Assist with pastoral care needs of the Church and keep that team apprised on all related issues.
Be available as needed to assist in crisis situations, hospital visits, funerals, and/or weddings.
Participate in “on call ministry” rotation as needed.
Attend Sunday services and assist at events as needed.
Set an example by attending all church events.
