About The Position

The Kids Dance Teacher leads engaging dance classes for students in grades K–5 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. The teacher creates a fun, supportive environment where children can learn, express themselves, and develop an appreciation for dance. Classes are 1–1.5 hours long and run Monday through Friday, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Teachers work two or more days per week, with a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. Pay is $50–$65 per hour. The position requires local US status or a valid work visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Enjoy working with children and have effective classroom management skills.
• Be flexible, reliable, punctual, professional, and enthusiastic.
• Have strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Be local to the US or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Previous dance teaching or performing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and energize classes of 8–16 students aged 5–10.
• Teach dance forms suited to elementary school children.
• Attend up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing.
• Transport and set up necessary equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback on students’ progress.
• Take photos of children participating in sessions.
