About The Position

The Kidney Walk Growth Manager is a revenue-accountable growth role at the center of NKF’s Kidney Walk Revitalization initiative — a multi-year effort with a clear path to doubling program revenue within 3–5 years. This position owns a portfolio of 23 mid-tier Walk events, driving performance through disciplined data use, coaching, and market-level strategy. The right candidate operates equally well in the weeds of weekly benchmarks and in the broader conversation about what it takes to scale a signature social fundraising program. The Kidney Walk Growth Manager will be expected to translate weekly dashboard data into decisive action, build field staff capability, and serve as a knowledgeable, credible partner to local market teams navigating the full fundraising cycle, from team recruitment through event-day execution and post-event stewardship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in peer-to-peer fundraising program management, with direct responsibility for Walk, Run, or similar community fundraising events
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events or markets simultaneously while hitting revenue targets
  • Proficiency in P2P fundraising platforms (e.g., Blackbaud TeamRaiser, Classy, Luminate Online, or equivalent) and in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Experience using data dashboards or reporting tools to track KPIs and inform coaching or strategy conversations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex performance data into clear, actionable guidance for field audiences
  • Comfort operating independently in a remote, distributed environment while maintaining strong collaborative relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or supporting corporate sponsorship execution in a P2P event context
  • Background in staff development, or training design
  • Familiarity with industry P2P benchmarking metrics (team retention, activation rates, participant average gift, etc.)
  • Prior experience in a national nonprofit with a field/chapter operating model

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of 23 mid-tier Kidney Walk events, with shared accountability for FY27 portfolio revenue totaling $2,066,803
  • Track and analyze performance weekly using the Walk Dashboard — monitoring interim benchmarks across total income, local sponsorship, teams, and participants to identify markets requiring targeted intervention in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
  • Translate benchmark data into market-specific coaching conversations, ensuring field staff understand both their current trajectory and the specific levers available to close performance gaps
  • Monitor week-over-week progress on team recruitment, participant registration, fundraising activation, and sponsorship pipeline across all portfolio events
  • Identify consolidation or growth opportunities by analyzing year-over-year trends and industry P2P benchmarks; make evidence-based recommendations to the Sr. Director, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
  • Serve as the primary subject matter authority on Kidney Walk core principles, program standards, and P2P fundraising best practices for all field-facing staff
  • Design and deliver onboarding for new Walk staff, covering program fundamentals, dashboard literacy, goal-setting tools, and market-specific strategy
  • Develop and facilitate targeted pop-up trainings in response to emerging themes from market-level conversations — addressing gaps in team recruitment, sponsorship cultivation, participant stewardship, and post-event strategy
  • Maintain and continuously improve Walk program resources and playbooks, drawing on internal performance data and industry-wide P2P insights in partnership with the Sr. Director, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
  • Support the execution of National Corporate Sponsor benefits, ensuring local markets activate partnerships fully and deliver on agreed-upon recognition and engagement commitments in partnership with the Field Corporate Development Team
  • Advise field staff on local sponsorship cultivation, pipeline development, and closing strategies to drive growth toward local sponsorship goals
  • Monitor sponsorship pipeline across portfolio events using the Dashboard and proactively flag markets with underperforming pipelines to proactively assess gap to goal
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field staff questions, managing the Walk Support Queue and ensuring timely, accurate responses
  • Collaborate with the Field Operations Team to coordinate event logistics support, including vendor coordination and external event execution
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising on budget stewardship, strategic planning, and national program evolution
  • Support communication of strategic priorities and program innovations to field staff, translating national direction into local action
  • Additional duties as required
