About The Position

As a Kid Zone Attendant at one of our locations, you help our members meet their fitness goals by providing a safe, secure and positive environment for their children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. Kid Zone is a service for YMCA family members providing drop-in care for their children with trained staff while they enjoy an onsite workout or class. You are friendly and patient as you ensure the safety of all children. Always alert, you provide proper supervision for the children as you "see, hear, direct, and assess." Parents feel good about leaving their children in your loving and capable hands. With enthusiasm, you help keep the kid zone area clean and in order. You are also conscientious about the YMCA emergency procedures and find ways to have fun with the children while they are in your care.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic skills working with children
Current certification in CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) and First Aid (for the community and workplace).
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a physical
Love for children
People person who especially enjoys interacting with children
Patient and able to remain calm when stressed
Enjoy reading and singing with children

Responsibilities
